The Belgium international needed surgery in Spain last month after damaging ligaments in his right knee during training.
The 23-year-old stopper has revealed the procedure had gone well and is now ready to step up his recovery programme.
Courtois anticipates he'll be back before the New Year, meaning he should be available for Chelsea's trip to Manchester United on the 28th.
"In terms of my knee, it is good," Courtois said following Belgium's Euro 2016 qualifying win over Israel. "I am doing my rehabilitation and it is progressing fine.

Chelsea have signed ex-AC Milan keeper Marco Amelia to provide cover in Thibaut Courtois' absence
"I will be starting the bulk of the work with my physio to come back as soon as possible. I have to be careful not to go too quickly, but all being well, I should be back in December."
Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been forced to recruit a new goalkeeper in Marco Amelia on a free transfer to provide cover for back-up Asmir Begovic.
