David Beckham backs Manchester United legend to replace Louis van Gaal
RYAN GIGGS is "perfect" to take over from Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, claims club legend David Beckham.
Ryan Giggs is in line to take over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford
Giggs, 41, is currently Van Gaal's number two at Old Trafford, having briefly managed the club last year.
The former winger, who scored 168 goals for United, is a candidate to replace Van Gaal when the Dutchman's contract expires in 2017.
And Beckham, who won six Premier League titles alongside Giggs, backs his former team-mate to continue the work left by Sir Alex Ferguson and Van Gaal.
"Ryan is manager material, he's got that streak that runs through him," Beckham, who is organising a charity match on behalf of UNICEF, told talkSPORT.

Louis van Gaal is expected to leave his Old Trafford post in the summer of 2017
"He could be a top manager. He's learned from Sir Alex over the years, now Louis van Gaal. He's taking his time and doing all the right things.
"All the fans would like to see him be manager at some time.
"He's got that appreciation and understanding of Manchester United, he'd be perfect to step in."
On United's current crop, Beckham added: "They look good players. I saw Gary Neville on TV the other day and he said they're not great players, they're still young and have to prove themselves over a certain amount of time - but they're doing very well now.
"It's about continuing and I'm sure they will. They've got that attitude."
