KEVIN NOLAN has turned down a move to a top French division club after two weeks of negotiations broke down, according to reports.
Former West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan has rejected a move to a top French division club
The 33-year-old midfielder left West Ham by mutual consent in August after four years at the club and is believed to have opted out of a deal to join an unknown French club because the player did not feel it was the right time for him or his family.
Since his departure from the Hammers, Nolan has been training with League Two side Leyton Orient to maintain his fitness while he looked for another club.
Nolan, who captained West Ham to promotion to the Premier League in 2011, has been linked with a return to the top flight with Bournemouth and shock contenders Sunderland expressing an interest in the Englishman.
The midfielder scored 37 goals in 157 appearances for West Ham, but chose to leave the club because he got sick of life on the bench.
Nolan has vast experience in the Premier League where he played for Newcastle, Bolton and West Ham - making 401 appearances and scoring 69 goals.
