Roberto Martinez issues £23m warning to Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Spurs and City
EVERTON boss Roberto Martinez insists he has no intention of selling James McCarthy this summer.
James McCarthy set for Everton stay despite attracting Premier League interest
Recent reports have heavily linked the Republic of Ireland international with a £23million move to Manchester City.
Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the defensive midfielder.
However, Martinez has hit back at the speculation by claiming none of his players are for sale this summer.
James McCarthy is not for sale
The Toffees manager is hoping to improve on last season's disappointing 11th-place finish by adding to what he already has at Goodison Park.
The Spaniard said on the McCarthy rumours: "He’s not for sale. My responsibility is to try to keep bringing competition into the squad.
"I think what we have got now is a very strong competition for places and we don't want to lose that."
