ARSENE WENGER insists Arsenal never need to offload their best players again.
Arsene Wenger claims Arsenal can now keep hold of their best players
The Gunners boss believes his side can now compete financially with the best teams in Europe, having previously been forced to sell players.
The north London club sold the likes of Sami Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor and Gael Clichy to Manchester City, Ashley Cole to Chelsea and Robin van Persie to Manchester United during a trophyless nine-year period.
Wenger said on Arsenal's financial status: "The time where we had to sell our best players is over for sure.
The time where we had to sell our best players is over
"We had five or six years where we were financially restricted, we had to balance the books and we had to pay the stadium back. This time has gone.
"It was a very sensitive period and mentally a very difficult period. But now we are over that.
"Now we are competing with everyone on a financial front and I think we can keep our best players."
