Arsenal Transfer News: Carvalho deal close, Chelsea legend Cech plans exit, defender blow

William Carvalho - Spotlight On
The Gunners are closing in on a deal for William Carvalho.
The Sporting Lisbon midfield won the player of the tournament at the Euro under 21 Championships in the Czech Republic.
And according to the Irish Independent Arsenal will beat Liverpool and Manchester United to his signature.
The 23-year-old is likely to cost £9.8million.
Adil Rami has signed for Sevilla.
The centre-back was among Arsenal and Man United's targets this summer, but the 28-year-old France international has chosen La Liga instead.
“Sevilla FC have reached an agreement with AC Milan for the transfer of Adil Rami,” an official club statement said.
“The French international will arrive for a medical next week when he returns from holiday, if all goes as expected he will sign a four-year contract.”
Petr Cech is already planning his Arsenal exit
Petr Cech has says he wants to play on until he's 40.
The 33-year-old signed from Chelsea last week and says he can play for another seven years.
"I don't want to speak about retirement for another seven years," he told the Evening Standard.
"That's my target and then I will see.
"You can have a plan, but sometimes, it doesn't turn out the way you want.
"This move is one of those things I didn't expect - but I'm glad it happened.
"In football you never know what's round the corner and retirement is something I don't plan.
"I'm just looking forward to my new challenge. I'll just go in, do my work and show I am worthy of a place."
