The 38-year-old is currently assistant at PSV but is keeping his options open.
He spent time at Chelsea as assistant manager to Rafa Benitez and played at Stamford Bridge between 2001-04.
He joined Liverpool as a player from Middlesbrough and stayed for two seasons.
When asked about the vacancy at his old club, Zenden told De Telegraaf: "I keep all my options open for the new season. I have always enjoyed myself in the Premier League."
