Inter line up replacement for Mateo Kovacic after Liverpool's latest bid
INTER MILAN have reportedly lined up a replacement for Mateo Kovacic after Liverpool's latest bid for the midfielder.
Mateo Kovacic is wanted at Liverpool
Reports yesterday suggested that the Reds had lodged an improved £17million bid for the Croatian international.
And while it is thought that Inter have rejected that offer as they hold out of £21m.
But in the biggest sign yet that they expect Liverpool to eventually seal a move for Kovacic, Inter have already got a replacement lined up.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Inter general director Piero Ausillo will target Wolfsburg's Ivan Perisic as a replacement if Kovacic wings his way to Anfield.
Roberto Mancini said earlier today, however, that he remains optimistic about keeping Kovacic at Inter.
"Kovacic will become a champion. He is young, but has already improved a lot," Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.
"I think he will stay at Inter.
"I don't think there is anything going on with him regarding a transfer."
