FORMER Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by Real Madrid.
Ancelotti hopeful of future at Real Madrid
The Italian saw his side fail to retain their Champions League crown, crashing out in the semi-finals against Juventus while also finishing second to fierce rivals Barcelona in La Liga, and Ancelotti has been given his marching orders by president Florentino Perez.
Ex-Liverpool chief and current Napoli manager Rafa Benitez is expected to take the reigns at the Santiago Bernabeu, and could make Manchester United's David De Gea his first signing.

Speaking to journalists, Perez confirmed: "I want to tell you I have made the decision to relieve to Carlo Ancelotti as coach of Real Madrid.
"It has not been an easy decision but it is time to give a new impetus to the team to conquer new titles.
"I want to thank Carlo Ancelotti publicly for his work during these two years."
