Manchester United clear to make £66m double swoop for Liverpool's Gerrard replacements
MANCHESTER UNITED have been given the green light to move for Roma pair Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan, according to reports in Italy.
Miralem Pjanic Player Profile
The midfield duo are both key men in Rudi Garcia's starting XI, but Italian newspaper Il Messaggero claims that he will be forced to sell them this summer in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Roma were hit by sanctions last week ordering them to pay a €6million fine while also cutting their squad size for next season's Champions League campaign from 25 players to 22.
The Giallorossi must now avoid making a combined loss of more than €30million for this year and the next, and Garcia is apparently set to cash in on his star players as a result.
Both Pjanic and Nainggolan have been linked with Liverpool as possible replacements for outgoing skipper Steven Gerrard, but it is believed that Louis van Gaal is looking to acquire both of them after being handed a £150m transfer kitty by Old Trafford chiefs.
Pjanic is said to be valued at £37million, while Nainggolan will be allowed to depart for £29m once Roma hand over £12m to Cagliari, who have a 50 per cent stake in the Belgium international.
Reports claim that Roma will sell Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan in order to comply with FFP
