Thomson watched by West Brom
West Brom manager Tony Mowbray was at Hampden last night to check-out Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson.
The Baggies boss travelled to Glasgow to run the rule over his former Hibs midfielder and his own winger James Morrison.
Mowbray took in the Scotland versus Northern Ireland clash as he continues to strengthen his squad for their Premiership assault.
He is a long-term fan of Thomson, who won his first cap, and could make his move as he is also aware Rangers are under pressure to get players off their wage bill.
Walter Smith would prefer to move on fringe players like Brahim Hemdani and Daniel Cousin first of all but may be left with no option as there has been little interest in them and the Ibrox books need to be balanced.
Rangers cost £2 million but could be persuaded to sell if the Hawthorns outfit were to offer double that figure.
