Kevin Friend BLASTED on Twitter for shocking refereeing display
KEVIN FRIEND has been pelted on Twitter for his refereeing display during the first half of Southampton's clash against Liverpool.
Kevin Friend (right) came under fire on Twitter
The official came under fire from Saints supporters after giving a number of dubious decisions against them.
Southampton saw a penalty appeal turned down after 25 seconds when Filip Djuricic was brought down in the area.
Ronald Koeman's side also had a penalty appeal waved away in the fourth minute when Joe Allen seem to take a piece out of Djuricic.
And to compound matters, Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was fortunate not to be sent off after appearing to handle outside the area just before half-time.
Express Sport brings you a selection of the hostile tweets that have come Friend's way.
I don't think I've ever witnessed a worse refereeing performance than Kevin Friend last night. There's been worse decisions but not 90 mins.
