Sporting Lisbon eye up Dundee United's in-form Armstrong
SPORTING LISBON are poised to again raid Dundee United by making a move for ace Stuart Armstrong – just as Celtic also make moves to sign the midfielder – according to reports in Portugal.
Stuart Armstrong is rumoured to be wanted by Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon
Celtic have pinpointed the 22-year-old as part of a January transfer window recruitment drive.
But Portuguese giants Sporting will be a serious obstacle to their hopes of landing the Terrors star, above, after their scouts watched him recently.
Sporting already captured precocious talent Ryan Gauld from the Tannadice club for £2.2million on a six-year deal that includes a £48m buy-out clause.

And they have been impressed by Scotland Under-21 star Armstrong after a series of impressive showings this season.
United are under no pressure to sell, having also let Andy Robertson move to Hull City in a £2.85m deal.
But Armstrong would be interested in hearing what Sporting have to offer as the Portuguese look to add new faces after yet another disappointing start to a league campaign sees them in fourth spot.
They are desperate for success, not having won the league in 12 years or even the Portuguese Cup since 2008 – and Armstrong could be the man boss Marco Silva turns to to change that.
