West Brom boss Alan Irvine admits heaping pressure on starlet Saido Berahino
WEST BROM boss Alan Irvine admits the burden of the spotlight has begun to take its toll on starlet Saido Berahino.
Irvine admits that West Brom have asked a lot of the young Berahino this season
Although he remains the joint-highest scoring Englishman in the Premier League, seven-goal Berahino's drought now stands at five matches.
The England hopeful, 21, has also been at the centre of controversy following his drink-drive arrest last month.
Irvine, whose team travel to Hull on Saturday bidding to end a run of four straight defeats, said: "We have asked a lot of a young player.
But I also believe he will come back, I think the goals will come again
"He obviously had a very good start to the season.
"There has been a lot of focus and emphasis on a young player.
"He has handled it well overall but I don't think anyone would be surprised if his form dropped off a little, which is what has probably happened.
"But I also believe he will come back, I think the goals will come again.
