SPOTTED! Victor Valdes sits with Wayne Rooney for Man Utd's draw with Chelsea
VICTOR VALDES took in Manchester United's draw with Chelsea yesterday alongside Wayne Rooney.
Valdes sat next to suspended striker Rooney to watch the 1-1 at Old Trafford.
The former Barcelona goalkeeper is training with United as he looks to return to action following a lengthy lay-off due to knee ligament damage.
Free agent Valdes had looked destined to join rivals Liverpool, but the Spanish international is now all set to sign a deal with United.
And the 32-year-old looked at home with his potential team-mates as he celebrated Robin van Persie's late equaliser with Rooney, Jonny Evans and Paddy McNair.
Valdes' agent Gines Carvajal and another representative of his have already held talks with the United hierarchy over a contract.
It is believed the keeper could become a member of Louis van Gaal's squad within a fortnight.
Bayern Munich were also interested in Valdes but he is expected to replace Anders Lindegaard as Van Gaal's second-choice keeper behind the impressive David De Gea.
