Former Liverpool chief Christian Purslow takes on new role at Chelsea
FORMER Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow has joined Chelsea as head of global commercial activities.
The 50-year-old's new role will see him responsible for expanding the Blues brand globally.
The club believes Mr Purslow has the vision and the leadership qualities to help us achieve these plans.
A statement on Chelsea's website said: "The club believes Mr Purslow has the vision and the leadership qualities to help us achieve these plans."
Purslow succeeded Rick Parry at Anfield in 2009 and then helped with the sale of the club to current owner John W Henry.
He stepped down from his role in October 2010 but stayed on as a non-executive director and special adviser until February 2011.
