Louis van Gaal hints at permanent stay for Liverpool target Victor Valdes
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Louis van Gaal has refused to rule out the possibility of signing goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
Valdes has been a free agent since the summer after leaving Barcelona when his contract expired.
And Van Gaal has allowed the 32-year-old to use the club's training facilities as he bids to return from the anterior cruciate ligament injury that has kept him out since March.
The Spaniard, who earned his Barca debut under the Dutch tactician in 2002, will join in with first-team training once he has fully recovered.

Manchester United has always their eyes open
Premier League rivals Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the experienced stopped, with first-choice Simon Mignolet coming under fire for some sub-par performances this term.
When asked whether he would consider signing the Spaniard if he returns to full fitness, Van Gaal gave a cryptic hint that it might be a possibility.
"Manchester United has always their eyes open," the 63-year-old manager said.
