John Stones hands Everton injury blow... and he won't be back until 2015
EVERTON have been handed a major blow, with John Stones facing a minimum of three months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
The 20-year-old defender sustained the injury during the 2-1 defeat away to Manchester United on Sunday.
Stones, according to reports, will now undergo surgery and could be out for up to 14 weeks.
He has pulled out of England’s squad for their upcoming international double-header against Estonia and San Marino.
And it seems unlikely he will return to action before the end of the year.
This is another untimely blow for Roberto Martinez, with Kevin Mirallas on the treatment table after he picked up a hamstring injury in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
Added to that, Barkley damaged knee ligaments while on England duty, but he could return after the international break.
Everton are currently hovering above the relegation zone in 17th spot.
