Lallana: Liverpool will make up for Merseyside derby heartbreak with three points at Basel
LIVERPOOL midfielder Adam Lallana is hoping to make up for dropped points against Everton's over the weekend in the Merseyside derby with a win at FC Basel tonight (7:45pm).
Steven Gerrard's second-half strike was cancelled out thanks to a last-minute pile-driver from Toffees centre-back Phil Jagielka.
And Lallana believes the Reds can use the heartbreak at Anfield to spur on a second win in the Champions League, after beating Ludogorets in the Group B opener.
"That's the good thing about having a game in midweek, especially off the back of a disappointing result," he said.

We get a chance to put it right tonight
"[Jagielka's goal] was kind of a sucker-punch in the last minute, but we get a chance to put it right tonight. That's all you can ask for off the back of a result like that.
"It'll be a fantastic start if we can get the win. It's going to be a tough game - coming away from home as well - but I think we got valuable experience from the first game [against Ludogorets Razgrad] and we showed great character.
"If we can possess that again tonight, we've got a great chance of getting a good result."
