Sunderland reject £5m bid from West Ham for Connor Wickham
SUNDERLAND are holding out for £7million for striker Connor Wickham after rejecting a £5m incentives-based bid from West Ham.
Wickham has less than 12 months left on his current £25,000-a-week deal. The 21-year-old is stalling on a new contract and can leave on a free next summer.
Sources close to the player say he is open to the idea of a move to Upton Park, where he would get a 25 per cent pay rise.
Swansea have joined Stoke in trying to sign Montpellier midfielder Benjamin Stambouli. The France Under-21 international can also play in defence.
