Liverpool dealt Antonio Candreva BLOW as Lazio sign up Italy star
LIVERPOOL have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Italy midfielder Antonio Candreva.
The Reds and Paris Saint-Germain have both been linked with the 27-year-old, who helped Italy beat England 2-1 in their opening World Cup game.
But Candreva's club Lazio have moved to secure his future after ending their co-ownership arrangement with Udinese.
It is commonplace in Italian football for two clubs to share ownership of one player, but Lazio have now bought out their Serie A rivals.
"Lazio communicates that it has resolved in its favour the co-ownership of the footballer Antonio Candreva," said a statement on the club's website.
Candreva has played for Lazio for two seasons and his 12 goals for the Rome-based side last season had reportedly attracted attention across Europe.
While Candreva is not off the market as such, reports in Italy claim Lazio have now slapped a £28million price tag on the winger.
