Norwich nearing end of their search for a new manager
NORWICH are hoping to make an announcement on the appointment of their new manager within the next few days, that is according to the club's chief executive David McNally.
The Canaries made Neil Adams caretaker manager for their final five games of the Premier League season following the dismissal of Chris Hughton on April 6.
Adams was unable to help Norwich avoid the drop, and though he has been viewed as a "credible candidate" for the position on a full-time basis, ex-Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is much-fancied to take over the reins.
When quizzed over what stage Norwich are at with their managerial search, David McNally said: "We are still in the process.
We announced the search started after the season ended. It is probably going to take a little longer
"We announced the search started after the season ended. It is probably going to take a little longer.
"We are talking to a short list of candidates. We are taking a few days longer than we indicated but it is only days.
"Neil is definitely a candidate and a credible candidate. He accepted the poisoned chalice and managed the team through a very difficult period."
