SEASON REVIEW: Lack of firepower proves to be Norwich's downfall
NORWICH will look back on the season with regret and frustration as they struggled to find the back of the net - 28 goals in the league tells its own story!
Here Express Sport takes a look back at Norwich's Premier League campaign.
Star man: John Ruddy
There were a couple of fleeting moments of brilliance from the likes of Robert Snodgrass and Alexander Tettey, but Ruddy was a class above.
Ruddy, who has been touted for a World Cup spot in the England squad, has been a safe pair of hands despite the alarming amount of goals shipped.
Ruddy saved Norwich on being on the end of more hidings and put in some magnificent performances.
Defining moment: Dismissing Chris Hughton
The writing was on the wall for Hughton and maybe it was no surprise he was axed.
But to be sacked a month before the end of the campaign was a bit strange.
Neil Adams was brought in and though they produced a plucky display to pick up an unlikely point against Chelsea, by that time the Canaries were already doomed to relegation.
Are the fans satisfied?
No, it has been a miserable campaign that has been defined by their lack of goals.
The Championship is getting tougher and tougher each year and hope new additions to be brought in so the Canaries can go back up to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Summer plans
A new striker. Ricky van Wolfswinkel has failed to hit the heights and has managed just one league goal this term.
Perhaps a winger to give Robert Snodgrass competition and they need width to play a more expansive game.
Verdict: E
It has been a very dispiriting season to say the least and they only have themselves to blame.
Norwich need to hit the ground running next season.
