League Two round-up: Pompey rise and shine
PORTSMOUTH moved closer to safety yesterday with a crucial 3-2 win over struggling BRISTOL ROVERS, who are now 22nd, just one place above the second relegation spot thanks only to goal difference.
Pompey went ahead in front of almost 18,000 fans on 12 minutes through Adam Webster.
Matt Harrold got one back for Rovers in the 22nd minute, and just before half-time, Danny Hollands restored the home side's lead on 41 minutes.
Harrold replied almost immediately to level the scores again.
Wes Fogden's close-range strike secured the win for Pompey with 20 minutes to go.
BURTON cemented their play-off place with a comfortable 3-0 defeat of HARTLEPOOL. Billy Kee scored a 28th-minute opener before Jimmy Phillips got the second and Lee Bell sealed the win with five minutes left.
