The Ivorian cemented legendary status during his eight years at Stamford Bridge after hitting the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final.
And it seems his influence hasn't gone unnoticed by the current crop of Blues players.
Drogba admitted before the game that he had mixed emotions about facing his former employers, saying he was 'delighted' and 'nervous' in equal measure.
After walking into the stadium, Drogba shook hands with David Luiz before wiggling his fingers and then he hugged the Brazilian midfielder.
Though it is unclear what the gesture meant, it will be interesting to see whether the pair swap shirts after the final whistle!
