Ruud news for Tim Sherwood as Gullit says Spurs sacking is inevitable
FORMER Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit claims that Tim Sherwood will be sacked at the end of the season regardless of Tottenham's final position.
The Dutch legend, renowned for coining the phrase 'sexy football' says that the appointment of Louis Van Gaal at White Hart Lane is a 'done deal.'
The news will come as a blow for Sherwood, who has made no secret of his desire to manage Tottenham on a permanent basis.
He said: "If it was down to me, I'm getting a ten-year contract now."
Rumours have been circulating for some time about Daneil Levy's interest in the current Dutch boss, who has managed giants Barcelona, Ajax and Bayern Munich.
I know for sure he was at Van Gaal's house, the [Spurs] chairman. I think it's a done deal
Ex-Chelsea boss Gullit said: "I know for sure he was at Van Gaal's house, the [Spurs] chairman. I think it's a done deal.
Van Gaal hasn't distanced himself from the position, repeatedly expressing his desire to manage in England.
"I've always said that I want to work in the Premier League, so there's a chance."
Tottenham face a tricky away fixture against Liverpool on Sunday, and having lost the previous game 5-0 confidence will be tested in their bid to land a Champions League spot.
