Luis Aragonés, nicknamed 'The Wise Man from Hortaleza', masterminded Spain's first major trophy since 1964 by leading the side to Euro 2008 glory.
Aragonés managed a host of Spanish sides including Atheltico Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona during a coaching career that spanned over an impressive 35 years.
Atlético Madrid posted a tribute to their former manager on their official website, it read: 'Luis Aragonés was a great player and coach, but above all a great person and a friend. On behalf of the whole club, I want to express our condolences to his family'.
