Relief for Tottenham with Christian Eriksen's injury not as bad as first feared
TOTTENHAM have been handed some welcome news after learning that Christian Eriksen's ankle injury is not as bad as first feared.
The playmaker hobbled off after 40 minutes during Denmark's 2-1 win over Norway following a tackle from Vergard Forren.
It was initially feared Eriksen would be out for up to three months after rupturing his ankle ligaments, but a scan revealed he may return to action in four weeks.
Spurs confirmed the news this morning, tweeting: "After an MRI scan it's been determined that @ChrisEriksen8 suffered a sprain of the lateral ankle ligaments playing for Denmark on Friday.
"Christian's scan showed no sign of ruptured ligaments which will result in a shorter period of recovery for the attacking midfielder."
Eriksen will as things stands miss games against Manchester City, Manchester United and Fulham.
