Spurs' Christian Eriksen voted Danish POTY ahead of Liverpool, Villa and Cardiff stars
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN has been voted Denmark's Player of the Year for 2013 for the second time, beating out fellow nominees Daniel Agger of Liverpool, Jores Okore of Aston Villa and Andreas Cornelius of Cardiff.
The gong, decided by the Danish Football Association, was awarded to Eriksen following an impressive start to life at Tottenham after a summer move from Ajax.
Eriksen previously won the award in 2011 while still at Ajax, and follows Dennis Rommedahl as the second player to win the award twice since it was established in 2006.
Speaking at the awards Eriksen said: "Many thanks to those who voted.
"I'm am extremely grateful to receive this prize.
"I can only say thank you to all those who have helped me in recent years, especially those who have been with me this past year with everything that I have gone through.
"This applies to both coaches and teammates. I am extremely pleased to win this award."
Reflected on becoming the second player to win the award twice Eriksen told Bold: "This means a lot. I am so grateful to those that voted for me.
"It's pretty crazy that I've won it twice at just 21 years old. I'm very proud of it."
