Andre Villas-Boas slams schedule as Spurs face injuries worry
ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS claims players’ careers are being put at risk when Spurs have to play two games in three days next week.
After the Premier League trip to Cardiff on Sunday, Spurs face Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday and Villa-Boas feels the PFA should act to fight such demands.
“How can a game be scheduled after two days?” he said.
“It immediately puts players’ careers at risk from injuries. I find it absolutely incredible. The second day of recovery is the most dangerous to pick up an injury. It’s bad if that is not taken into account.”
The Football League expressed sympathy, but said it was the best solution to a freak situation that sees Arsenal, Spurs and Swansea all travelling to the West Midlands for games after Sunday fixtures.
