Charlton 1 - Doncaster 3 (abandoned): Water torture for Paul Dickov
DONCASTER boss Paul Dickov was enraged after the game was called off at half-time because of a waterlogged pitch with his side leading 3-1.
A strike by Paul Keegan, later sent off for two yellow cards, and a Chris Brown brace put Rovers 3-0 up inside the first 20 minutes.
There was a 28-minute break because of the heavy rain before Simon Church pulled one back for Charlton.
But referee Lee Collins then abandoned the match, and a clearly angry Dickov said: “It just turned out to be shambolic.
“The referee should have let the game go on as long as he could – both sets of players wanted it to continue.”
Addicks’ manager Chris Powell admitted: “At times it wasn’t easy but both teams were prepared to go out there and carry on.”
