CONFIRMED: Norwich tie up Swedish international Johan Elmander on season-long loan
NORWICH have confirmed the signing of Swedish international striker Johan Elmander on a season-long loan from Galatasaray.
The former Bolton striker broke the news on Twitter saying: "On the way to Norwich City!"
"A new career begins tomorrow. I'm happy to be back in England. You know more than me, but it's right."
Norwich have added strikers Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper already this summer but have now brought in further reinforcements up front.
Chris Hughton was also linked with a move for Juventus striker and West Ham target Fabio Quagliarella after Hooper suffered a worrying but ultimately relatively minor injury in a friendly against Panathanikos a week before the start of the Premier League season.
But the Canaries ultimately settled on bringing Elmander back to England following a two-year stint in Turkey.
Elmander joined Galatasaray from Bolton after seeing his contract expire at the end of the 2010/11 season, despite scoring 18 goals in 92 matches for Trotters.
The 32-year-old made the move to England with Bolton in a £10m deal from Toulouse in 2008 after impressing in Ligue 1.
