Norwich 2 - Everton 2: Ricky van Wolfswinkel nicks a point for the Canaries
RICKY VAN WOLFSWINKEL's stunning header secured a point for Norwich against Everton in an entertaining opening game at Carrow Road.
The away side, in their first Premier League match under Roberto Martinez, controlled the first-half but failed to convert that domination into goals.
Everton were left to rue those missed opportunities in the second-half, when Norwich defender Steven Whittaker made the most of a lucky break of the ball to fire home from a tight angle after his first strike had hit the post.
However the impressive Ross Barkley brought Martinez's side back on level terms within 10 minutes of falling behind with a stunning 25-yard hit that left John Ruddy with no chance.
The Toffees took the lead minutes later, as Seamus Coleman fired in after Nikica Jelavic's shot was stopped by Ruddy.
But van Wolfswinkel was on hand to draw the sides level once more as he rose highest to meet Whittaker's cross and produce a fantastic equalising header.
