PICTURES: Antonio Valencia pays tattoo tribute to Christian 'Chucho' Benitez
MANCHESTER UNITED winger Antonio Valencia has paid tribute to former Birmingham striker Christian Benitez by immortalising his Ecuador compatriot in the form of a tattoo.
Valencia played alongside Benitez for his national side, having come through the ranks in Ecuador together.
Benitez - who passed away last month after suffering heart failure - spent the 2009/10 season on-loan at Birmingham.
Valencia, 28, paid tribute to Benitez, 27, by showing off his tattoo after scoring for United during their 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in Rio Ferdinand's testimonial.
"I wanted to share with you this tribute in honour of my brother 'Chucho'," posted Valencia. "We'll never forget you."
The tattoo depicts Benitez's nickname 'Chucho', alongside three stars, his date of birth, favoured shirt number and date of death.
