Arsenal try to bring down £30m price for Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic
ARSENAL face being priced out of a move for top transfer target Stevan Jovetic this summer.
Arsene Wenger had identified the 23-year-old Montenegro forward as the big-money signing needed at Arsenal, after the club secured Champions League football next season.
And the Gunners are thought to have commenced negotiations with Serie A side Fiorentina over the sale of Jovetic this summer, despite claims by Viola sporting director Daniele Prade that there had been no talks.
However, Arsenal may be forced to look elsewhere in their pursuit of extra firepower next season, with the Tuscany outfit valuing Jovetic at £30 million.
The increased valuation could be a consequence of reported interest from Italian champions Juventus, while London rivals Chelsea are also making a late move to snatch the former Partizan star.
Jovetic is believed to be happy to agree a £100,000 a week contract with Arsenal, which could be signed if Fiorentina lower their valuation for the coveted hitman to match Arsenal's figure of £20m.
Wenger is considering other options though, with Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney linked with the North London club.
