Manchester United a distinct possibility for Juventus target Claudio Marchiso
MANCHESTER UNITED are not giving up in their pursuit of Claudio Marchisio this summer.
The Italian has been a driving force behind Juventus' title-winning Serie A campaign this summer and is highly sought after by a number of top European clubs.
We reported recently United are planning a £25m bid for the 27-year-old midfielder, as they look for a replacement for Paul Scholes who has retired.
Although a formal bid has yet to be lodged, it seems Marchisio is not as indispensable now to Juve as he once was.
Reports in Italy point to the fact that Juve coach Antonio Conte's renewal with the club came with a caveat that he could buy a number of new players which in turn could see Marchisio's place in the team come under threat.
Marchisio has netted six times in 29 Serie A appearances this season.
His current contract expires in June 2016.
