Manchester United line up £25m bid for Juventus' Claudio Marchisio
MANCHESTER UNITED are poised to table a £25m bid for Claudio Marchisio in the summer.
The Express Online reported earlier this week that United are set to revive their interest in the midfielder who has been a cornerstone of Juventus' Serie A success this season.
Marchisio has been seen as the ilk of player that could add an extra dimension to United's midfield department, with Paul Scholes approaching the end of his career.
Moreover, Juventus are expecting a busy window, as they are looking to land top striking target Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"If they bring in Ibrahimovic, they will have to let someone go," former Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro told Italian football site Sportmediaset.
"And in terms of the midfield, Conte has chosen Pogba, Vidal, and Pirlo. This is certainly going to be a problem, as where would Marchisio fit in?"
Marchisio, whose current deal expires in June 2016 pockets a salary of £2.5m.
