Liverpool's Craig Bellamy in Team GB squad
CRAIG BELLAMY has revealed he has agreed to play for Great Britain at the Olympics.
Manager Stuart Pearce will name his full squad this week, but the Liverpool striker has already told fans he has been included in that party as one of the three over-aged players.
“I’m in the Olympic squad,” he told locals at a charity event in Singapore.
“I was supposed to keep it quiet but I’ve agreed to do that. It’s a different challenge. I had a difficult season with Liverpool, but the Olympics is a one-off.”
Bellamy scored just nine goals for Liverpool last season but has 69 international caps with Wales.
Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Joe Cole are now seemingly competing for the two remaining over-23 places.
