Brendan Rodgers change of heart as Liverpool move in
LIVERPOOL will hold talks with Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers this week as they seek to end their search for Kenny Dalglish’s successor.
Rodgers is ready to listen to the Anfield club’s plans after previously rejecting their overtures due to the manner in which Liverpool initially conducted their recruitment process.
A lengthy short list was drawn up, but Rodgers’ credentials mean he is hoping to be installed as leading contender.
He was due in New York yesterday to see Wales play Mexico.
Dutch coach Louis van Gaal has been mooted for the role of Liverpool sporting director, as well as manager, although whether Rodgers or Roberto Martinez would be prepared to work under him is doubtful.
