Manchester United hero David Beckham earned a fortune during his playing career thanks to his mouthwatering wages and various sponsorship deals, with his net worth said to have climbed to a staggering £360million alongside his wife Victoria.

The former Real Madrid midfielder has used part of his wealth to enjoy some of the finer things in life.

He upgraded his luxury yacht earlier this year, with the new rig reportedly valued at £16million. And that means he has a yacht which is worth over five times more than the yacht Conor McGregor owns.

Beckham's original 100-foot yacht - thought to be a Riva 90’ Argo - is worth around £5m. But he now possesses a Riva 130 Bellissima, which is estimated to cost £16m.

The Bellissima has been described as a ‘modern classic superyacht’, which is made of glass, steel and carbon-fibre and has a contemporary exterior.

There is a jacuzzi on the upper deck, while the lower deck features a swim platform and an alfresco lounge.

It is a bigger boat than the one owned by mixed martial artist and boxer McGregor who owns a Lamborghini Tecnomar 63.

McGregor’s yacht features a futuristic design and has a dashboard inspired by Lamborghini's Sian FKP 37. It comes with Y-shaped headlamps and a private bedroom space, But it is only worth £2.5m.

The duo aren’t the only celebrities to enjoy life on the water, with ex-Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich said to own a yacht worth a whopping £1.5billion and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos possessing one which is valued at £400m.

Beckham’s desire to spend his money was discussed during his self-titled Netflix series, which was released last year.

And in one episode, his former United team-mate Roy Keane told viewers: “He was the first to do it. He certainly upped everyone’s game in the car park, I’ll give him that. He bought a fancy pen. I was like ‘who the f*** buys a pen? Who buys an expensive pen?’ Shirts and clothes and all that I get, but who buys a pen?”

Phil Neville also explained: “David used to get his salary on a Friday, spend it all by Saturday and then spend the next five days waiting for the next salary to get the jeans to match.

“That is what he was like. Have money, spend it. Have money, spend it. Have money, spend it. Me and Gary [Neville] were like ‘let’s save it for a rainy day.’ We used to put money into a pension and David was like ‘what are f*** are you doing?’”
