Josh McEachran wants to be just like Frank Lampard
JOSH McEACHRAN wants to follow the example set by Frank Lampard and prove a big hit on loan at Swansea.
Chelsea midfielder Lampard, then at West Ham, spent two months at the Swans as a teenager when they were rooted in the old Fourth Division in 1995. Now McEachran, who was given a pep talk by Lampard before his temporary move to the Liberty Stadium last week, is determined to follow in his footsteps.
McEachran, 18, said: “I spoke to Frank a few times before I left. He was saying I would love it, especially where Swansea are now. He said it’s a really nice place and the fans are great.
“I really like it here, it’s a fresh start and I’m settling in well so far. Swansea is a lot different to London. Everyone is very laid-back and I’m enjoying it.
“I used to watch Frank a lot in training every day and he talked to me a lot. I aspire to be a player like him.”

McEachran, who is set to make his debut at Sunderland, added: “It’s hard to get into the first team at Chelsea as we have one of the best teams in the world.
“I wanted to go out on loan and hopefully Swansea will help me.”
