Tim Clancy is backing Darren Randolph for Euro 2012 tickets
TIM CLANCY is desperate to see Motherwell team-mate Darren Randolph make it to Euro 2012 - and then blag a few big-match tickets off him.
Irishman Clancy is planning to head for Poland and Ukraine to support Giovanni Trapattoni's men should they take care of Estonia in next month's Play-Offs.
And he's already thinking of Fir Park keeper Randolph as a potential source of gold-dust briefs for the group games.
Randolph has been excellent this season with his eight shut-outs from 14 games helping propel the Steelmen to second spot in the SPL.
The 24-year-old earned his first senior call-up for the Carling Nations Cup in May and Clancy would love to see him sneak into the set-up in time for next summer's Euro finals.
Clancy said: "I am hoping for a week or so in Ukraine next year. I have got a mate at the Football Association of Ireland who could hopefully sort me out with tickets.
Darren is an unbelievable keeper and he has started the season on fire with a lot of clean sheets.
"But if Darren gets in the squad and is throwing them about, I'd take a few. Darren is an unbelievable keeper and he has started the season on fire with a lot of clean sheets.
"He makes fantastic saves and, physically, he's a beast. He has every attribute you need to be in the international set-up.Obviously, they have Shay Given and Kieren Westwood, but you never know what will happen.
"If either of them get a knock or a suspension, it would be brilliant to see him as part of the team."
Clancy is also keeping a close eye on the Scotland set-up ahead of next month's friendly in Cyprus .And he has joined the throng of 'Well players touting forward Jamie Murphy for a call-up.
Clancy said: "Generally, it is the boys who apply themselves the best that progress. Jamie would fit that bill.Murph is a brilliant player and I think every team that we come up against recognises that fact and highlights him.
"He can create something out of nothing and go past a player and has a very good footballing brain.
"Under Craig Levein, the young Scottish players playing in the SPL seem to be getting a chance, so it is only a matter of time before Murph gets a call."
