Skipper Garry Monk hands Swansea boost
GARRY MONK will hand Swansea a major boost as he steps up his injury recovery tonight.
Captain Garry Monk missed the Premier League new boys’ 4-0 defeat against Manchester City with a foot injury but will make a long-awaited return in a reserves clash with Bolton at Parc y Scarlets.
That will be a huge lift to Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers and if Monk, 32, comes through unscathed, he will be in contention for Saturday’s home clash with Wigan.
Republic of Ireland international Tom Butler will also play for the reserves after a thigh injury and said: “I’m pleased the manager has shown a lot of faith in me by giving me another year’s contract.”
