Newcastle's Neil Taylor plot thickens
NEWCASTLE'S pursuit of Swansea defender Neil Taylor has taken a new twist after his situation was referred to the Premier League.
An arbitration panel has been asked to rule on a clause in full-back Taylor’s contract which Newcastle believe triggers his release for a fee of £1million.
The promoted Swans insist the clause only allows clubs to talk to the player and that they do not have to accept any offer. As a result, they rejected Newcastle’s bid out of hand last month.
Taylor, 22, joined Swansea from Wrexham for an initial £150,000 in June last year. Swansea are to open talks with midfield starlet Joe Allen over a new contract.
