Sir Alex Ferguson points the finger at Wayne Rooney's agent
SIR Alex Ferguson pointed the finger at Wayne Rooney’s agent for causing the uncertainty over his future and putting Manchester United through a traumatic week.
Ferguson did not name Paul Stretford, but inferred that he rather than Rooney created the tension.
After United’s 2-1 victory at Stoke yesterday, he said: “You have to deal with agents of this world today, which is difficult. The players are no problem. Some agents are difficult.
“When top players come towards the end of their contracts you have to do something to get them a new one. They are all the same.”
