Liverpool win title RECAP: Slot and players thank Klopp as Reds party after Spurs win
Liverpool win title LIVE: Express Sport provides regular updates from Anfield as Arne Slot's side bid to wrap up a 20th title against Tottenham.

Liverpool enter this afternoon's Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur knowing that just one point would confirm a record-equalling 20th English league title. The Reds are on the brink of their second Premier League crown in Arne Slot's historic first season at the helm since replacing Jurgen Klopp.
Anfield is preparing to celebrate Liverpool returning to their perch against Ange Postecoglou's struggling Tottenham outfit. Slot has already laid out his plans to commemorate his incredible success, while Jurgen Klopp has also shared whether he will be involved. Express Sport provides regular updates throughout the day as Liverpool bid to wrap up a title that has been inevitable for weeks.
Mohamed Salah explains key request he had for Arne Slot upon Dutchman's arrival
Mohamed Salah has revealed the one request he had for Arne Slot following Liverpool's title win.
Speaking about the pair's early exchanges, he said: "I told him 'as long as you rest me defensively, I will provide offensively' - so I'm glad I did. It was the manager's idea of course, but he listens a lot."

The most famous selfie in football?
You can tell Mohamed Salah enjoyed that one!

Mac Allister thanks Klopp
Alexis Mac Allister admits he's grateful he made the decision to join Liverpool from Brighton in the summer of 2023 - and thanked Jurgen Klopp for his role in bringing him to Anfield.
Speaking to Sky Sports on the Anfield pitch, the Argentine World Cup winner said: “Not bad. To win a World Cup and then a Premier League is really special. It is an achievement that I really enjoyed but it would not be possible without my team-mates. They are really important to me and I am just one part of the puzzle.
“This team is really good. Last year, we showed it but it was not enough at the end. This time, we made a big difference and we can enjoy it.
“I am really enjoying my time here. It was the right decision and I always thank Jurgen [Klopp] because he was a really important part and Julian Ward as well.”

Salah: This one's better than the last
Mo Salah has been strong in insisting that Liverpool's latest Premier League title triumph was better than the last!
"Incredible. To win the Premier League with the fans is something special. You saw it in every game," Salah told Sky Sports.
"This is way better [than five years ago]. 100 per cent. We have a different group now, a different manager, so we're able to show we can do it again and it's special."

Arne Slot pays tribute to Jurgen Klopp
At the end of last season, Jurgen Klopp helped usher in Arne Slot by getting the fans on board with a new chant...

Arne Slot reacts
Arne Slot was already losing his voice as he reacted to the title in an interview with Sky Sports.
"It's difficult to put into words. You can feel how important it was for the fans to be here," Slot explained.
"We always come back, we always find a way to win. I don't think we could have lost today.
"Our main focus was to win this game, if you are a part of it you still feel the pressure of getting the points over the line.
"For the whole season, we were on top of the league, but you also know how hard the Premier League is. The belief for us to win it was here throughout the season."

Liverpool draw level with Manchester United
Oh, to be a fly on the wall of Sir Alex Ferguson's living room right now...
Twelve years ago, he completed his mission to knock Liverpool off their perch as he guided Manchester United to a 20th league title.
A decade of despair has followed at Old Trafford, and it couldn't have been more different at Anfield.
Two crowns later, Liverpool are 20-time champions now too, and you'd back Arne Slot's men to build on this next season.

He then proceeds to grab a phone from what appeared to be one of Liverpool's social media team and takes what could be one of the club's most-liked images ever.

30 minutes to go...
Liverpool are just 30 minutes away from being confirmed as 20-time English champions...
Tottenham haven't threatened Alisson's goal whatsoever this half and appear accepting of their defeat.
Surely the Reds will fancy more goals, here... surely...

This could get ugly for Spurs now.
Cody Gakpo founds the bottom corner after a poor headed clearance from Lucas Bergvall at a corner.
The title will now surely be Liverpool's today.

An extraordinary strike from Alexis Mac Allister sparks an explosion of noise in Anfield.
Liverpool now have one hand, and a few fingers on the second hand, on the trophy.
It's been a brilliant response from the Reds.

Tottenham's wretched Anfield record
Tottenham have only left Anfield with victory ONCE in the last 30 years.
That came in 2011 courtesy of goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric.
They need victory again today for Liverpool not to be crowned champions. But they've only won 11 of their 33 league games this season.
The omens don't look great...
Why Liverpool WON'T lift the trophy today
If Liverpool do get the point they require against Tottenham this afternoon, they will NOT lift the Premier League trophy today.
But why?
Premier League tradition dictates that the trophy is presented on the final home game of the season.
That means Liverpool will receive, and lift, the silverware on May 25 against Crystal Palace instead.

A reminder - Liverpool need only a single point to mathematically confirm their 20th top-flight title today.
Arsenal are 12 points behind the Reds and only have four games - and 12 points - to play for this season.

And here are the visitors...
It's eight changes from Ange Postecoglou.

No place for the injured Son Heung-min in the squad and Rodrigo Bentancur is also absent.

Gary Neville makes tough admission
Gary Neville has admitted that Liverpool have to be considered the most successful club in English football once they draw level with Manchester United's 20 league titles.
"Liverpool have more European Cups and today will equal Manchester United’s 20 league titles - the debate is over. Liverpool’s success should cause pain and heartache," Neville told Sky Sports.

Will Jurgen Klopp be in attendance today?
No. Well, it doesn't seem like it...
Earlier this year, the former Liverpool manager insisted that he would only return to Anfield if the title were wrapped up.
Klopp shared that he planned to be in attendance for the Reds' final game of the season against Crystal Palace.
And, of course, he will be present for the celebrations...
"Yes, the plan is [to be there for the celebrations] but not on the bus," Klopp said during a fundraising event in Cape Town. "I will be there where the people are. That’s the idea, but we will see."
He added: "I will be there for the last game. I didn’t want to go earlier, to be honest, because I didn’t want to jinx it!
"They win all the time, and I’m the first time in the stadium and they lose! So, I’ll go there when it’s decided."

Arne Slot reveals title celebrations
Arne Slot has revealed how he plans to celebrate Liverpool's Premier League title, should they confirm it today.
The Dutchman has experience lifting silverware with Feyenoord, and he wants to maintain his calm persona.
"I enjoyed it a lot when Feyenoord won the title, but I don't go crazy. It wasn't like I ran three times around the stadium," Slot explained.
"I was just very, very happy inside, and I shared my emotions with the people around me and the fans. But I will never be the one who is the loudest or the weirdest in the moment. I'm not like that."
Afternoon!
Good afternoon!
