McGregor is not Levein's problem
CRAIG LEVEIN will stick with Allan McGregor for next week's crunch opening European Championship tie against Lithuania despite the latest controversy raging round the Rangers' goalkeeper.
The Ibrox number one is in hot water once more after he feigned injury following a challenge with Derek Riordan in the weekend game against Hibs at Easter Road even though he wasn't touched.
There has been universal condemnation of the keeper.
But Levein insisted: "I can only pick the players I think are the best players for any position. Anything attached to them be it David Weir being 40 or Allan in an incident I don't have a lot of interest in.
"This hasn't come to my door. It's something Walter Smith and Allan need to deal with if necessary.
"All I'm looking at is that he's fit and he proved himself in that game against Sweden and he's proved himself a hundred times before. I'm just picking the best man for the job."
