Antony is reportedly pushing to leave Manchester United this week amid interest from Jose Mourinho in bringing him to Fenerbahce. The winger has endured a torrid spell at Old Trafford since joining from Ajax two years ago and now appears to be close to leaving the club.

He has informed United chiefs of his desire to seek a new challenge with a loan deal possible before the end of this week, according to The Sun. It is said that Fenerbahce are in pole position to land Antony, with Mourinho keen on giving him the platform to revive his career.

The transfer window in Turkey will remain open until Friday, meaning Fenerbahce still have plenty of time to negotiate the terms of a loan deal with United. They are not the only club in the race, though, with the report adding that Ajax could bring him back to the Netherlands.

Clubs in Spain and Italy have also been credited with a desire to land Anthony, who is said to be earning around £200,000 per week at United. He joined the Red Devils for a transfer fee of £85million but is yet to rediscover the form he showed at Ajax before moving to England.

The report also states that a move to Saudi Arabia could be a possibility for Antony over the coming weeks. The country's transfer window does not close until October 6, suggesting he could still leave United in the near future even if Fenerbahce fail to sign him.

Any move is likely to be a temporary one, with United said to be reluctant to sell Antony until at least the end of the season. He remains tied down until 2027, having signed a five-year deal upon his arrival from Ajax.

Antony has played just one minute of football in the Premier League this season, coming on as a late substitute in United's defeat to Brighton. He has found himself behind the likes of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo in Erik ten Hag's pecking order.

The Dutchman has consistently defended Antony when quizzed on his United future in recent months, saying over the summer: "He certainly showed that potential in the first month, he scored three times in his first three games.

"After that it became more difficult, last season was not good, but I am still convinced that he has the potential to play at this club."
