Liverpool are reportedly close to finalising a permanent deal to sell Bobby Clark to Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.

The academy graduate was one of Jurgen Klopp's favourite emerging talents at the club, but it appears he is not viewed as part of Arne Slot's plans for the coming season.

The Reds appear to be prepared to offload the midfielder this summer despite the fact Slot is yet to make any new signings this summer.

According to DaveOCKOP, Salzburg submitted a £6million bid last week for the 19-year-old, who has also attracted interest from teams in the Championship, and that appears to have moved the two parties closer to striking a deal.

Salzburg initially wanted to bring in Clark on a loan deal, but they have now made their move to bring the highly-rated youngster to the Austrian Bundesliga on a permanent deal.

The two clubs have been locked in discussions, but the Austrian giants are pushing to find an agreement as their domestic season has already begun.

Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

With Ultra HD included at no extra cost, football fans can enjoy the 2024/25 season with crystal clear picture quality.

Klopp's former assistant Pep Lijnders took over as their new head coach this summer and, along with his assistant Vitor Matos, the pair are said to be 'extremely keen' to work with Clark again.

Clark has been chased by as many as 12 teams in the second tier, with Bristol City, Portsmouth, and Norwich among the clubs interested. The report also claims RB Leipzig and Rangers showed interested early in the summer window.

But Salzburg's participation in the Champions League, combined with the opportunity of working with Linders again, could be enough to convince Clark to move to the Austrian Alps.

Clark is currently recovering from a minor stress issue in his back, but it is not anticipated that it will prevent him from sealing a move if he is required to undergo a medical.

The move has come as a surprise on Merseyside, as the expectation was that Clark would commit his future to the club with a new contract and secure a temporary move away. However, the 'landscape' has changed in recent days.

Salzburg's initial bids were turned down by Liverpool, but they are moving closer to matching their valuation of the starlet.

Clark is not the only academy player that will be allowed to leave. Stefan Bajcetic has been informed he can go on loan next season, while Kaide Gordon is reportedly set to complete a loan switch to Swansea City.

Slot's clearout is set to continue with Fabio Carvalho close to competing a £20m switch to Brentford after holding talks with the Dutchman over his future earlier in August.
