Manchester United are reportedly ramping up their efforts to secure a new left-back, with the position becoming a pressing concern for Erik ten Hag as the transfer window draws to a close. Luke Shaw is battling ongoing fitness issues and is likely to be absent from the Community Shield clash against Manchester City, despite his late participation in Euro 2024.

Meanwhile, long-term absentee Tyrell Malacia has been out of action since the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

In recent days, the Red Devils are said to have initiated discussions with the agents of Fenerbahce's left-back Ferdi Kadioglu to ascertain the financial implications of a potential transfer.

Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

With Ultra HD included at no extra cost, football fans can enjoy the 2024/25 season with crystal clear picture quality.

According to the Mirror, they face competition, as Brighton and Hove Albion have already entered £25million negotiations for Kadioglu and lead the chase for his services. Another undisclosed Premier League team has also shown interest in the player.

Despite reports of a formal bid in his homeland, Arsenal are not believed to be chasing the 24-year-old Turkish international who dazzled at Euro 2024.

Mario Hermoso, a 29-year-old free agent, is another player that has been proposed to United.

The Spaniard, primarily a centre-back but also capable of playing as a full-back, left Atletico Madrid at the end of last season. His age and wage demands, however, are claimed to make a transfer unlikely.

Despite interest from Italy and Saudi Arabia, Hermoso, who recently signed with the globally recognised agency CAA Base, has yet to finalise contract terms with a new club.

United have also reportedly been scouting Girona's Miguel Gutierrez, and the 23-year-old Olympic gold medallist with Spain could still change clubs before the transfer deadline.

Earlier this summer, United were linked with Chelsea's Ben Chilwell, who might be available, but it remains uncertain whether INEOS are considering him as an option, as there have been no solid developments so far.

Academy talent Harry Amass has been turning heads throughout pre-season, and it seems likely that the 17-year-old will be given a chance to shine in the first team this season.

Meanwhile, United are thought to be working tirelessly on securing other signings, including a new right-back, centre-back and central midfield player.

A deal for Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui appears to be all but done, pending a payment agreement with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is set to join West Ham United. Interest in Matthijs de Ligt continues to be strong.

Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte remains on United's radar, but the club is not prepared to meet the current £50m asking price for the Uruguayan international.

Negotiations are still underway for a surprise move for Burnley's Sander Berge, who is keen to make the switch to Old Trafford.

There's also a possibility that United could look to bolster their wide options late in the transfer window, depending on Jadon Sancho's future.
